Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, initiates a Special Session of the Parliament dedicated to the 60th Anniversary of the Declaration of Human Rights
He made this statement at the press conference in Berezne town in Rive region.
"I will suggest that The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopt a resolution to hold a special session of the Parliament dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Declaration of Human Rights in October," he stated. V.Lytvyn believes that participants of the session should analyze implementation of this act.
The Head of the Parliament suggests inviting representatives of the European institutions, esp. the European Court of Human Rights. He reminded that Ukraine is a notorious leader by the number of appeals to this institution. "It means that something is wrong with our system," he added.
